Contemporary with Ambrosial Shaving Cream - The Nobility
Omission of 'Three King Court' address may be due to smaller size - or perhaps date is post 1865 ?
Genuine Bear's Grease - [Dale B21] (London)
2.5in/6.5cm diameter - fancy border
smaller size of B25 - see above
with border and scrollwork
Lid above is same size but has 'London and Paris' - is this due to a space restriction, or might this one be dated earlier, before a Paris branch was opened - investigate.

Cherry Tooth Paste - w/o Extra Moist (Modern Reproduction)

stevesd1912@eBay says - "...an exact recreation of one of the most poignant passenger items yet recovered from the debris field of R.M.S. Titanic. The item is a toothpaste jar which was issued for use by First Class passengers onboard R.M.S. Titanic in her sumptuous staterooms and parlour suites. This reproduction of the original brand of "John Gosnell & Company's Cherry Toothpaste" jar is an exact likeness of the original artifact right down to the slight cracking on the surface of the jar's glaze to simulate years of age during the firing process. This item looks just like the vintage item that is priceless! The original item was recovered by the recovery teams of R.M.S. Titanic Inc. and can be seen in the popular book "Titanic, Legacy of the World's Greatest Ocean Liner." The jar measures 2" in height and 3 1/4" in diameter."
Appears to corroborate existance of lid above. However, uses '& Co.' form of company name, which ended in 1898, whereas Titanic sunk in 1912 - a 14 year hiatus. Could this be explained by late use of an earlier lid, or the 'recycling' of a pot over a period of years ? Maybe White Star had the pots refilled ?

"Peasant Boys" - [Mortimer 337d]
triton247@ebay says: "...dating to around late 1850's through to 1860's. This is directly based on a painting The Beggar Boys by B.E. Murillo. He was a famous Spanish artist during the 17th Century and provided future inspiration to some of the great names in the 18th and 19th centuries, such as Sir Joshua Reynolds and John Constable. One of his specialities was ragged beggar boys and beggar girls, hence the composition and title of this painting and pot lid....Manufactured by F & R Pratt, Fenton, Staffordshire."

Johnstone's Soap

Price & Gosnell
Johnstone's Windsor Soap
Probably 1832-1834
With label (below) overlaid and removed - this may suggest a date of 1832-134, as 'Price & Gosnell' morphed into 'John Gosnell & Co.' - interesting...
'His Majesty' might be George III (1760-1820), George IV (1820-1830) or William IV (1830-1837).
Note: something written in pencil at 10 O'Clock - possibly '18/5 .. D V 3' or '18/S .. D V 3'
Note: 'Successors' and 'Embossers' spelt with an 'fs' - can these help with date?
Note similar crest in use on this 'Price & Gosnell'
Court Plaster label.
Name of Embosser - Whiting - prominent on label.
Johnstone's Windsor Soap
Probably 1832-1834
Looks as is it was created to be stuck over earlier 'Price & Gosnell' appellation, on death of JG senior and JG junior's creation of 'John Gosnell & Co.'.
Johnstone's Windsor Soap
Came from same album as two above labels, most probably from same bar of soap...
Probably 1832-1834
Note that 'Prepared by...' box looks like a later, rushed (strange 'I.' for 'J.' typo) addition to label (I have mocked up a copy without this possible addition - perhaps packaging had to be changed rapidly upon company change over...)
Note identical background pattern in this 'Price & Gosnell' Court Plaster label.
Johnstone's Windsor Soap
1834-1837 ("His Majesty" is William IV)
Name of Embosser - Whiting - demoted to subscript.
Johnstone's Windsor Soap

7.5x11.7cms
1840-1861 (Albert marries Victoria - Albert Dies)
This is the only mention of "13, Rumford Place" address of which I am aware (might help with dating).
Possibly towards beginning of these dates - as 'Price & Gosnell' is still being mentioned.
Name of Embosser - perhaps Whiting ? - ommitted.
'Carte Porcelaine' (prepared with white lead oxide)
Found in album with other items dating between 1835-1865 ('Carte Porcelaine' typical in Belgium over this period)

1852 - Trichosaron patented.
1865 - Three King Court address burnt down.

Search down for mentions of "Gosnell" in The Art Of Perfumery. If "Amandine" is the Almond Soap mentioned, then this might date the advert between 1852-1855...
Note mention of Tooth Paste being sold in 'pots' and the representation of the pot being the 'early' variety with the 'full stop'.
Since Trichosaron is described as the 'Last And Greatest Addition' (Patented in 1852), Cherry Tooth Paste (from 1853?) is mentioned and many of the other products are seldom documented ones (therefore older), I think that this must be dated closely to 1853.
